Qualifications of the Instructor(s)
has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Applied Mechanics from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He has held academic appointments at the University of Strathclyde (2 yrs.), the Technion in Israel (9 yrs.), Texas A&M University (2 yrs, while on sabbatical leave from the Technion), and has been with Drexel University in Philadelphia for the past 25 years. Presently he is a professor and Vice Director of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems at Drexel University. Concurrently, Professor Seliktar founded and directed a Biomechanics laboratory at the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Hospital and conducted research with Moss Rehabilitation Hospital, AI duPont Hospital for Children, Shriner's Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher's Hospital, and a number of orthopedic institutions. Professor Seliktar consulted to government and public agencies, hospitals, and industry. His research involved studies of human performance, prosthetics and orthotics, assistive technology for disabilities, orthopedic implants, and biomechanics of injury. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Easter Seal Research Foundation, the National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research, the Nemours Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, and some hospitals and industry. He has published more than one hundred and fifty articles in scientific journals, book chapters, and refereed conference proceedings. Prof. Rami Seliktar
