19, 2008.

Innsbruck, Austria, is nestled in the valley
of the Inn River and tucked between the Austrian Alps and the
Tuxer mountain range. Climb the Stadtturm on Herzog Friedrich
Strasse for a stunning view of the town and its surrounding
scenery. Attend a concert at the beautiful renaissance-style
Ambras Castle. The sturdy medieval houses and sidewalk cafés
of Old Town Innsbruck beckon you to sit a while and watch
people stroll by.
Congress
Innsbruck traces its beginnings to medieval Europe and The
Dogana, a historic theatre. Congress Innsbruck has been thrice
awarded "Apex Congress Centre of the Year."
The first IASTED International Conference on Visual Communications (VC 2008) will allow international experts who work with the scientific and technological implications of vision to meet with other specialists in spatial, photographic, and mobile imaging.
Visual communication is about more than appearances; it is about designing and imagining the future. Issues surrounding visual communication reach from medical imaging for diagnosis to virtual reality for video games and entertainment. Never before have science and art worked so closely together, or with such far-reaching effect.
The VC 2008 conference will highlight expertise in visual communication, image representation, computer vision, image analysis, and pattern recognition. It will also include experts in visual rhetoric and culture, as well as graphic design, photography, and art. VC 2008 is intended for scientists and critics interested in how visual communications can extend all the way from art to the furthest reaches of scientific thought. The conference will include a wide range of discussions, as well as an opportunity for delegates to enter some of their own visual communications – in the form of photography – in a contest designed to find the most innovative eye.
