One Week to Submit Papers

Please submit your papers as well as proposals for tutorials, special sessions, and panel sessions by November 1, 2007. See the Call for Papers here.

Date

ACST 2008 will take place from April 2 – 4, 2008.

Location

Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands off the North-Western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Unique rock formations, ancient rainforests, and spectacular caves have influenced Langkawi's fantastic legends of gigantic birds, warriors, and fairy princesses. A natural paradise unmatched in splendour, it is no wonder it was long known as "Malaysia's best kept secret." White sandy beaches and clear emerald waters offer visitors sun-filled days of rest and relaxation, and there are countless ways to add adventure to your stay. Catch a boat to Palau Payar Marine Park, feed wild eagles, or explore the world-renowned Cave of Bats.

Advances in Computer Science and Technology
(ACST 2008)

Research in computer science and technology is rapidly becoming interdisciplinary. The purpose of ACST 2008 is to bring together international researchers and practitioners working at the cutting edge of several sub-areas of computer science and engineering, as well as related areas such as scientific computing, computational biology and medicine, and bioinformatics, in order to promote the growth of interdisciplinary computer science and technology research. In addition to fostering research collaboration, this conference aims to enhance technology transfer to industry. All submissions will be double blind reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers. Acceptance will be based on originality and contribution.

ACST 2008 is sponsored by the International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED), with the assistance of the:
  • Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence
  • Technical Committee on Computer Graphics
  • Technical Committee on Databases
  • Technical Committee on Parallel & Distributed Computing & Systems
  • Technical Committee on Software Engineering

Conference Chair

Prof. Sartaj Sahni is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Department at the University of Florida. His areas of specialization include image processing, computational geometry, and sequential and parallel data structures and algorithms.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Anil Jain is a University Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Statistics and Probability at Michigan State University. His research interests include statistical pattern recognition, data clustering and texture analysis.
