Applications of Partial Differential Equations in Geometric Design and Imaging

Abstract

The use of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and its applications has played an important role in many scientific and engineering disciplines. Nowadays PDE based techniques are becoming increasingly popular in many applications of geometric design and image processing. This special session provides an opportunity for researchers in the areas of geometric modelling, computer graphics, and image processing to present and discuss new methodologies and techniques used in their respective applications.

Topics for this session can include but are not limited to:

Biography of the Presenter

Dr Hassan Ugail is a senior lecturer and head of Visual Computing research group at the School of Informatics at University of Bradford, UK. Dr Ugail has a Ph.D. in Geometric Modelling from the School of Mathematics at University of Leeds, UK. Dr Ugail's research areas include geometric modelling, computer graphics, computer animation, design analysis, and automatic optimisation. He has numerous publications in leading international journals and conference proceedings. He also acts as the Principal Investigator for several research projects. Funding for his current research projects comes from the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and a variety of industrial sources.

Each submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two referees. Authors are also encouraged to nominate up to three referees (name, address, and email) to be approached to review their submissions.
