Hitoshi Miyata is a professor of Faculty of Education, a director of Center for Educational Research and Practice, Shiga University in Japan. He is a principal investigator of the GP project on Mobile-Learning (2006-2008) supported by the Ministry of Education in Japan by Government Grant. He received B. Ed. In Kyoto University of Education, Japan, in 1981. He also received M. Ed. Degree in Hyogo University of Education, Japan, in 1988. Since 1993 he has worked as a researcher at the Faculty of Education, Kyoto University of Education. His current interests are in mobile systems in education, web-based education, and the CSUL (Computer Supported Ubiquitous Learning). He got the Best Paper Award of the 8th International Conference on Web-Based Education (WBE 2009), Phuket, Thailand, and of the 12th International Conference of Computers and Advanced Technology for Learning (CATE 2009), US Virgin Islands. He is a member of IASTED, AACE, JSEI, and JAPAN Society for Educational Technology.
