Sten Bay Jorgensen was appointed full professor in 1986 in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. In 1989 he established the Process Dynamics and Control Centre (PDDC) and in 1997 he together with professor R. Gani founded the Computer Aided Process Engineering Center (CAPEC).
Professor Jorgensen's principal research interest is the development and use of a systems approach to solving problems in process and product design, operation and control. In particular his research covers the development of computer-aided methods and tools applicable to problems from petroleum, chemical, specialty chemical, agrochemical, food and pharmaceutical and related industries for:
