Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann has been doing research in the area of virtual humans since the early eighties. She has published more than 300 papers in the field. After obtaining several degrees at the University of Geneva, she obtained her PhD in Quantum Physics from the same university. Since then, she has been a Professor at the University of Montreal in Canada and now, she is a Professor at the University of Geneva where she chairs the MIRALab, which is an interdisciplinary laboratory. She has been nominated at the Swiss Academy of Sciences.
