Ian Reid is a Reader in the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. After completing a B.Sc. at the University of Western Australia in 1987, he was elected to the 1988 Rhodes Scholarship for Western Australia. He completed his D.Phil. at the University of Oxford in 1991, and since then has been employed in the Robotics Research Group conducting research in computer vision. From 1997, he held an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship and was appointed to his current post in 2000. His research interests include active vision, visual navigation, visual geometry, human motion capture, and intelligent visual surveillance. He has published over 80 papers in computer vision in major journals and refereed conferences, serves on the program committees of various national and international conferences, and has been involved in a number of EU and UK sponsored research projects.
