Barclay Morrison III, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York, USA. Dr Morrison is an internationally recognized leader in the biomechanics of traumatic brain injury. His work is unique in that it focuses on the biomechanics of traumatic brain injury at the living-tissue level, including the biochemical, genomic, and molecular pathways responsible for post-traumatic cell death for a number of applications including brain injury tolerance criteria. In addition, he is developing neural electrodes that incorporate nanotechnologies to better interrogate neuronal network function of the brain. In 2009, he gave a keynote address at the annual conference of the International Research Council on Biomechanics of Injury and was an invited speaker at the Department of Defense Brain Injury Computational Modeling Expert Panel in 2010. He is an Associate Editor of BMC Neuroscience.
