Dr Giovanni Montana is a Lecturer in Statistics at the Department of Mathematics of Imperial College London. Dr Montana has a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Warwick and is a Chartered Statistician. He has previously worked at the Department of Human Genetics of the University of Chicago and was a member of the Statistical Genetics and Biomarkers Group of Bristol-Myers Squibb. His research interests include computational statistics and machine learning methods for high-dimensional data such as those arising in bioinformatics and systems biology. He has developed statistical methods for genetic association studies and for the analysis of transcriptomic, proteomic and metabonomic data.
