Juan J. Villanueva received a BSc in Physics from the University of Barcelona in 1973 and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the UAB in 1981. Since 1990, he has been Full Professor at the Computer Science Department in the UAB. He promoted the Computer Vision Center (CVC) and has been its director since its foundation. He is co-founder of the Image Sequence Evaluation (ISE) research group at CVC. His research interests are focused on Computer Vision, in particular Human Sequence Evaluation. He has published more than 160 scientific papers and has good experience in the leadership of numerous European, Spanish, and Catalan projects.
