Purpose

Exploring parallelism and concurrency is an efficient way of sharing interconnected processing and data resources to speed up time critical computation, lower costs of design and production, increase profit, create a better business environment, and improve societal welfare. PDCS is an international conference series that focuses on the design, analysis, implementation, evaluation, and application of parallel and distributed processing architectures, networks, algorithms, software, and systems. The goal of PDCS is to bring together researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia, industry and governments around the world to advance the theories and technologies of parallel and distributed computing and systems by sharing their ideas, results, insights, and experiences on these topics.

All papers submitted to this conference will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee and related technical committees. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality, significance, technical soundness, presentation, and references. The conference chair makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the paper.

PDCS 2008 will be held in conjunction with the IASTED International Conferences on:

and the IASTED International Symposia on:

52 million tourists flock to Orlando each year to take in its wealth of attractions, relaxing beaches, and abundant golf courses. Orlando is the proud home of the Walt Disney World Resort, SeaWorld, and the Universal Studios Orlando Resort, and is consistently ranked as a top vacation destination, boasting more theme parks and entertainment attractions than any other city in the world. Florida's cultural scene is sure to whet the more mature appetite with several thriving community theatre organizations, Cirque du Soleil performances, plenty of museums including Kennedy Space Centre and the Ormond Beach Art Museum, and tons of shopping in some of America's largest malls. If you'd like to enjoy Florida's tropical weather, stroll through one of Orlando's many parks or sunbathe on one of three pristine beaches in the area.

The Orlando World Center Marriott Resort, 1.5 miles from Walt Disney World Resort in the Lake Buena Vista area, is one of the finest full service resorts in the southeast USA. Built on over 200 acres of lush tropical landscape, its 18-hole championship golf course, ten restaurants and lounges, and boutique spa services make the Marriott an ideal location for business or pleasure in Orlando.

Submission

Initial Papers
Submit your paper via our website at: www.iasted.org/conferences/submit-631.html.

All submissions should be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. The IASTED Secretariat must receive your paper by September 15, 2008. Receipt of paper submission will be confirmed by email.

Complete the online initial paper submission form designating an author who will attend the conference and provide four key words to indicate the subject area of your paper. At least one of the key words must be taken from the list of topics provided under Scope. Initial paper submissions should be full papers with approximately six pages. Formatting instructions are available at: www.iasted.org/formatting-initial.htm.

All papers submitted to this conference will be double blind reviewed by at least two reviewers. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality and contribution.

All papers submitted to IASTED conferences must be previously unpublished and may not be considered for publication elsewhere at any time during IASTED's review period. Authors are limited to a maximum of three paper submissions. Authors are responsible for having their papers checked for style and grammar prior to submission to IASTED. Papers may be rejected if the language is not satisfactory.

Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by October 1, 2008. Final manuscripts are due by October 15, 2008. Registration and final payment are due by October 15, 2008. Late registration fees or paper submissions will result in the papers being excluded from the conference proceedings.

Final Papers
Send your final manuscripts via email to: finalpapers@iasted.org. The subject line for the final manuscript submission must include your six-digit paper number. The formatting instructions can be found at: www.iasted.org/formatting-final.htm and must be strictly followed. The page limit for final papers is six single-spaced pages in 10 point Times New Roman font. Only one paper of up to six pages is included in the regular registration fee. There will be an added charge for extra pages and additional papers.

Tutorials

Proposals for three-hour tutorials should be submitted online by September 15, 2008. Tutorials are to be submitted via the following website address:
www.iasted.org/conferences/tutorialsubmit-631.html.

A tutorial proposal should clearly indicate the topic, background knowledge expected of the participants, objectives, time allocations for the major course topics, and the qualifications of the instructor(s).

Persons wishing to organize a special session should email a proposal to calgary@iasted.org by September 15, 2008. Proposals should include a session title, a list of the topics covered, and the qualifications and brief biography of the session organizer(s).
