Artificial Intelligence (AI) is widely accepted as a key technology offering an efficient method to solve complex and difficult problems. Several AI techniques have been used in several applications including smart power and energy systems. It is well known that AI techniques play an important role in system modeling, control, fault analysis and operation scheduling of power and energy systems. These techniques comprise areas like artificial neural network, genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimizations, fuzzy logic, and various hybrid systems. In addition, the scope of this session includes the application of wavelet transform in power and energy systems. Wavelet transform is one of the most popular tools for analyzing signal and it has been applied in several kinds of applications including power and energy systems. Furthermore, wavelet transform can be combined with some AI techniques to form a hybrid system. Prospective authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to the session chair by December 15, 2011.
