LOCATION
PES 2007 will be held in Clearwater, Florida. Clearwater
lies directly between the vibrant Tampa Bay metropolitan
area and the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Visitors
can spend their days enjoying the sun, sipping a cool beverage
and relaxing on some of America’s best beaches. Whether
they choose the sands of Fort Desoto Park, Caladesi Island,
or the local Clearwater Beach, they are assured pristine
coastlines, crystal clear water, and a beautiful environment.
Clearwater is more than just white sand and palm trees.
Nestled in the Pinellas Peninsula, it is also a gateway
to diverse nature preserves and animated local arts, culture,
and cuisine. Close to the Brooker Creek Preserve and the
Weedon Island Preserve, visitors can explore thousands of
acres of protected and unspoiled parks, learn about the
unique collection of local flora and fauna, and travel along
many miles of hiking and canoeing trails. At night, the
famed Sunsets at Pier 6 party offers a unique street festival
filled with local arts, live music, and street performers.
For a more upscale evening, Tampa Bay’s historic Latin
Quarter, one of three National Historic Landmark Districts,
is the perfect place to enjoy the Gulf Coast’s fresh
caught seafood and lively nightlife.
