Side Management and Alternative Energy Strategies for Progress
Energy Florida, USA
Description
of the Panel Session
Utility power systems are undergoing significant changes
due to load growth, emerging technologies, environmental
concerns, and customer requirements. Additional generation,
transmission, substation, and distribution capacity will
be necessary to support this growth. The first step in addressing
these capacity problems is to optimize the utilization of
existing facilities. Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management
programs not only address the capacity issue, but also environmental,
reliability, and customer concerns. In this panel session,
experts from several leading utilities will discuss new
Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management programs that
utilize state-of-the-art technologies to control system
loading and help customers operate more efficiently
