Tours in Peru

Peru is famous for it’s archeological treasures that have been etched on to the surface of the earth in the form of ancient ruins nestled on mountain tops or arranged into geometric patterns that can be seen from the sky. There are so many amazing places to see while visiting Peru and we hope that some of you will have the opportunity to enjoy what the country has to offer. Due to the distance that must be traveled and the cost involved to get to many of Peru’s popular attractions, IASTED will not be planning any trips as part of the Lima conference. The staff at IASTED has however, been looking into some possible pre and post conference tours for any delegates who have the time and/or desire to visit some of Peru’s famous sights. We have come up with a few possible tours to Machu-Picchu or the Nazca Lines, which may interest some of you, both of which are outlined below.

POST Conference Tour to Nazca Lines Valley

PRE Conference Tour to Machu Picchu

Other Important Information
The ruins of Machu-Picchu are located at a very high elevation in the Peruvian Andes, which can sometimes result in tourists experiencing altitude sickness during their visit, especially if they are traveling from low altitude coastal areas. If you are considering a trip to Machu-Picchu please talk to your doctor about the concerns related to altitude sickness. It is impossible to know who will be affected by altitude and thus to avert unpleasant experiences caused by altitude, the only thing you can do is try to educate yourself on the subject. For more information visit your doctor and doing your own research on the subject. You can start by checking out this website: OA Guide to High Altitude: Acclimatization and Illnesses
