Puerto Vallarta
is located on Mexico's largest natural bay, and is accessible
by land, air and sea.
The most popular
means of travel to Puerto Vallarta is by plane and the Gustavo
Diaz Ordaz International Airport (code PVR) is located just
6.4 Km (4 miles) north of downtown and just 4.8 Km (3 miles)
north of the conference venue, the Sheraton Buganvilias
Resort & Towers.
The airport is well connected to North America’s major
airports and is served by twelve major airlines and countless
charter companies.

TRANSPORTATION
AROUND PUERTO VALLARTA
Taxis
Taxi fares are set in Puerto Vallarta. Fares are posted
in each taxi, the daily newspaper and most major hotels.
From the airport to the hotel it costs approximately $10
USD and from the hotel to the airport it is approximately
$5 USD. With more than 1,000 taxis in Puerto Vallarta, they
are a fast, economical and convenient way to get around.
Buses
Getting around the city by bus is a very inexpensive way
to travel. Fares anywhere in town are $4.00 pesos, which
equals about $0.40 USD. Bus stops are found on nearly every
corner and run from early morning until 11 p.m. There is
also bus service for out-of-town trips.
Rental
Car
Car rentals are available at the airport and through travel
agencies. Renting a car is best if you are planning a long
distance trip, or doing more than simply traveling around
town. The cost averages approximately $60 USD per day. For
the best rates we recommend booking prior to arriving in
Puerto Vallarta.
