2006, OCSN 2006, WNET 2006, ARP 2006, Telehealth 2006 and
WSN 2006 will be held in conjunction at The Banff Centre
(see map),
in the heart of the picturesque Canadian Rocky Mountains.
This beautiful
facility was founded in 1933 and has grown substantially
to become a world-class conference facility with hotel accommodations.
It is also recognized as a National Training Institute for
the Arts by the Canadian government, and as well as functioning
as a conference centre, also hosts a variety of artistic
and cultural events throughout the year.
Delegates may
book a hotel room at The Banff Centre. The Banff Centre
must receive your reservation by May 19, 2006
in order to be guaranteed the conference rate. The IASTED
negotiated rate is available for a limited number of rooms,
on a first-come first-serve basis. Please see the Hotel
Reservation Form for payment conditions.
The hotel
rates are as follows (prices are in Canadian dollars):
From
July 2nd to July 6th:
Single Superior Room: $253.2 CDN/night
(for one conference delegate – king size bed, including
buffet breakfast and buffet lunch)
Double
Superior Room: $145.7 CDN/night per person (for
two conference delegates wishing to share a room (king size
bed, or two queen size beds - includes breakfast and lunch
for 2 people)
The IASTED negotiated
hotel room rate and conference package includes accommodation,
daily buffet breakfast, daily buffet lunch, parking at the
Banff Centre, and use of the Sally Borden Recreation Facility
(which includes a pool, steam rooms, whirlpool, weight room,
full-sized gymnasium, indoor running track, badminton and
squash courts, and climbing wall). More information about

Prior
to July 2nd and after July 6th,
IASTED delegates are offered a special rate that does NOT
include meals.

**Please
note that the following taxes are applicable to your hotel
room:
GST- Canada imposes a "Goods and Services
Tax" (GST) of 7% on all purchased goods and services.
These may be refunded upon application for all non-Canadian
residents.
AHT-Alberta
imposes an "Alberta Hotel Tax" (AHT) of 5% on
all accommodation charges. AHT is not refundable. AHT will
not apply to no-show charges or room cancellation fees.
There
are two ways for IASTED delegates to make a hotel reservation
at the Banff Centre:
1. Online
Booking System: Rooms can be booked using the online
reservation form by clicking here.
***Please note that this online system can be used to book
rooms during the conference dates ONLY (July 2-6). If you
use the online system and would like to arrive prior to
or depart after these dates, you can make your reservation
online for the conference dates, and then after receiving
your confirmation number, contact The Banff Centre Reservations
department at 1-800-884-7574 or by email at reservations@banffcentre.ca,
to check availability for the pre and post conference dates.
2. Faxable Hotel Reservation Form: Rooms
can be booked by using the Hotel
Reservation Form and faxing it directly to The Banff
Centre at the number provided.
